Good to know

We are located in the West End, just over a mile southwest of the Old Port in the historic neighborhood known for its elaborate Victorian-era architecture. Our neighborhood offers you the tranquility of the Western Promenade, an 18-acre park offering scenic views and walking paths, in tandem with a host of popular restaurants and cafes, all within easy walking distance. The neighboring Arts District and Old Port offer plenty to explore on foot, including museums, art galleries, theaters, restaurants, shops, and bars. Your private room is furnished with a queen sized bed, white noise machine, desk, and a couch. A Smart TV is provided should guests have their own streaming services. *no cable or streaming service is provided by the host* This room does not have an off-street parking spot. Because we neighbor Maine Medical Center, parking within a half-mile radius is hourly parking only from 9 am-5 pm Monday through Friday. If you arrive on a weekday at 4 pm or later, you can just park on a neighboring street and leave the car for the night until 10 am the next morning. If you arrive on a weekday at 3 pm or are staying for multiple days, we can provide you with street parking directions a half-mile walk away.

Other Details to Note

During the winters, the City of Portland may declare a parking ban during a large snow storm (or even a day or two after). During these parking bans, parking is limited to specific streets and parking lots.

The Inn itself is cozy and conveniently located within walking distance of downtown Portland. It’s also surrounded by plenty of wonderful options for restaurants. If you’re visiting Portland I highly recommend staying here!

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Skofield. The room was quiet, clean, pretty and walking distance from many great restaurants and sites. At check out, I left an important item in the room and was able to easily retrieve it thanks to Katrina’s prompt response to my messages. Highly recommended!

I think this just became my new favorite stay in Portland! Katrina is a wonderful host, she is very accommodating. The location is beautiful, and within walking distance or a very short drive to just about everything you could think of. The space was very cozy and relaxing, I loved having the view of the garden from the window in the bedroom. You can tell this place is loved, it’s very well taken care of. I’m glad I got to spend some much needed time to myself there for a night. I would love to stay here again in the future!

I got a great deal in off season, and WOW... I don't think I'll stay anywhere else when visiting Portland in the future. The room was perfect in every way, but most importantly, sooooo quiet.

Amazing place just a 10-minute walk to Congress Street, where you’ll find great bars and restaurants. The space feels more like a private studio than just a room in a house, which made the stay even better.
