Room 9 is a private top-floor suite with two bedrooms, two queen beds, one private bathroom, room for up to four guests, and one included parking space. Both bedrooms and the bathroom open from a common hallway. No other guest rooms are on the third floor, but the staircase remains open to the lower floors of the inn. Oversized vehicles cannot be accommodated.

Built in 1847 as a private residence, this historic home has a fascinating past. In the 1940s, it was transformed into a funeral home, where it served the Portland community for nearly a century before beginning its newest chapter as The Delphian Inn. The Delphian's location is hard to beat. Nestled between Portland's historic West End and vibrant Downtown, we're just a half-mile walk from the Old Port. Our neighborhood places you in the heart of the Arts District while offering the charm and tranquility of the West End. Museums, art galleries, theaters, award-winning restaurants, shops, and bars are all just steps away. Whether you're visiting for business, a weekend getaway, or a quiet retreat, our inn offers a peaceful place to recharge. Each private guest room features an en-suite bathroom, a queen-sized bed, a reading chair or sofa (depending on the room), a mini refrigerator, and a white noise machine to help ensure a restful night's sleep. To encourage a relaxing escape, our guest rooms are intentionally television-free. We invite you to unplug, unwind, and experience everything Portland has to offer. Complimentary high speed WiFi is available for guests who bring their own devices.

To help provide a restful stay, the building was outfitted with brand new windows in 2026, and each guest room is equipped with a white noise machine to minimize outside sounds. Located in downtown Portland, typical city noise is still to be expected. While this suite can accommodate up to 4 guests, each guest after 2 incurs an additional $20 nightly charge. Both bedrooms within this suite have uneven stairs that vary in both height and width, leading to raised platforms with seating areas. There are no railings. Guests should use caution and be mindful of their surroundings when navigating the stairs and while on the raised platforms. Guests who have difficulty with stairs or may be unsteady on their feet should avoid this suite. Winter Parking Notice: During snowstorms, our parking lot must be fully cleared after the storm so it can be plowed. If snow removal is required, all vehicles must be moved from the lot between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on the day following the storm. The nearest unrestricted street parking is approximately a half-mile away, making it a great opportunity to explore downtown or one of Portland's neighboring communities. If snow removal is necessary during your stay, we'll send you a message with the details the day before or as soon as the schedule is confirmed.
